Chapters from the pictures, not from a transcript
Walks and drives have no words to search. Open the video you just exported, look at the whole film on one sheet, click the moments that matter, name them, and copy a description that follows YouTube's rules.
or drop it anywhere on this page. It stays on your computer, nothing is uploaded.Made by Marco, Walk and Travel Europe, in Linz. Inspired by a motorcycle traveller's free map animator, which showed what one small free tool can do.

0Description
Write once per video. The template Walking tour adds the repeated lines and the chapters for you.
About this video
Only the fields this template uses. Camera, playlist and hashtags stay for your next video.
Second language
Optional. Adds a translated block under the English one.
The translation fills the fields below and the second name on every chapter. You can correct anything afterwards.
Templates
You set this once. A template is the order of the blocks and the lines that repeat on every video. Pick the nearest one, adjust the repeated lines, save it as yours.

About keymoment
A free tool for people who film a town on foot or a road by car, say nothing, and keep the real sound. Made by Marco in Linz, who has the same 40-minute export every Sunday. Inspired by a motorcycle traveller's free map animator.
How it works
Pick frames
Open a video. The whole film appears as a sheet of frames, with the light of the walk above the filmstrip. Click a frame to move there, double-click or press C to make it a chapter. Hover a frame to see the second before and after. Show nearby frames gives five-second steps when a chapter must start at an exact moment.
Name chapters
Each chapter is a card with its own picture. Type the name, drag the marker on the timeline or press Shift and an arrow to nudge it. YouTube's rules are checked as you go: first at 0:00, ten seconds apart, at least three, all named. Save frame gives you the picture at full size for the thumbnail.
Write the description
Pick a template once, fill in the few lines every walking video has, and copy. Filmed fills itself from the file. Camera, playlist and hashtags stay for next week. The 5,000-character limit is counted, and you see what viewers read before “more”.
Which videos work
A desktop tool, for anything your browser can play. MP4 with H.264 is safest. If the frames stay grey, export a 1080p H.264 copy from your editor and open that instead. The chapter times stay the same.
Nothing leaves your computer
Your video is read from your disk by the browser and never uploaded. Drafts and templates are kept in this browser only. No account, no analytics, no cookies, no fonts or scripts from anywhere else.
